To save his soul, we must go to Chick-Fil-A

Hello friends and family

We had a good week.

Bye-bye!
-Elder Moore

Just kidding. I'll tell you about it.

This week Elder Ferguson and I worked and worked and worked. It is warming up and so we are also drinking a lot of water. We met a lot of nice people. In particular I want to talk about one person whom I will simply refer to as "the legend". So "the legend" was found by me and my previous companion knocking on doors. A week later we returned for our appointment and "the legend" let us in to teach him. "The legend"s mom really wanted him to go to church with us, which happened to be the next day. This is what makes "the legend" "the legend". He came to church with us, despite having close to 0% knowledge about God or Jesus Christ or anything like that. Because "the legend" is about 15 years old, he went to young men's and the young men's set up a mutual activity where they are basically going to Chick Fil A, mostly because they asked "the legend" what restaurants he likes, and so now he is going to chick fil a with the youth this Thursday. Also, we are going. Because he is an uncomfortable non-member who knows us slightly better than he does the young men, to save his soul, we must go to Chick Fil A.

One day while Elder Ferguson and I were walking down the street, we knocked on this door. The person didn't answer and so we started to walk away. Well, then a car pulled up to the driveway. This particular car almost hit us, and then while glaring at us, the driver almost hit 2 other people and their dogs who were walking on the sidewalk near them. We decided, this guy looks mad. He pulled in the driveway and shut the garage so we left to another area to work in. Well, while walking, that same car pulled up to us later and the man driving said vehicle began drunkenly bashing with us. I have heard pretty much everything at this point in my mission so nothing was new, but this particular man didn't just focus on trying to destroy our testimonies and try to convince us that God doesn't exist, but he also started insulting us and more or less told us that we were brainwashed idiots who needed to go back to school to learn, what he said, was more important. Well, we simply bore our testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and of our Savior. He couldn't argue with that and eventually we just walked away because we had better things to do than argue with a drunk driver. Well, about 2 or 3 minutes after that we received a text message from a Bro member in our ward. This member said in the text something to the effect of "I have just received a spiritual prompting that you two deserve some donuts".
The moral of the story is, if you stand up for what you believe in, you will probably get donuts. And that is exactly what we got.

The Gospel is True and will Change Your Life. Read the scriptures, pray, go to church, keep the commandments, and your life will be better than it is now if you aren't doing those things. Greater peace and joy comes from living the Gospel. So live it...

Transfers already?

Well it's official. As of Wednesday the Sister missionaries I was in the mtc with go home on Wednesday. O how time flies...

In other news, transfers happened! Our whole district pretty much shifted around in a circle. I am staying in this area for one more transfer. Elder Ames is serving in another area that is right next to this one. The missionary who was there is coming into this are to be my companion (his name is Elder Ferguson. I have only known him since the early days of the mission) just came from the are Elder Ames is serving in now. Our areas are so close to each other that we are next door neighbors in our apartment complex, so we see them around all the time. Our district leader changed areas to someone else's area in the same district. So basically everyone just shifted around in our district. 3 in-district transfers! I have never heard if that...

This will be a fun transfer. I have been on quite a few exchanges with Elder Ferguson so I already know him. He is from somewhere near Seattle and he has been out 1 transfer more than I have, so we are almost the same amount of time out in the field. We're the old missionaries in the district...

We had a cool miracle. Something I have stood by my whole mission is: just get out the door and work hard, and the Lord will bless you. Obvious little philosophy right? Well, this happens in every area. My companion and I grind out an area and knock lots of doors and talk to many people, and then someone inevitably comes to us with a desire to be Baptized. Which brings me to a guy named Dave. He showed up to church with a member and long story short, he has been reading the Book of Mormon and wants to be Baptized. I won't tell his whole story, but let's just say the member works with people who just got out of federal prison, so Dave and the member are buddies because of the members work....
So we will most likely have a Baptism in the next couple of weeks. Woot!

Oh and Elder Ames is going to train a new missionary. That will be good for him. He really wanted to train, so this is a blessing for his righteous desires!

I don't know if the other pictures I sent Las time really went through so I am sending these ones again... for your viewing pleasure.

The harder I work the more of a testimony if gain of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is definitely a proactive Gospel that grants us a personal relationship with the Savior, and us such, we come to know who we really are, even the pre-mortal Sons and Daughters of God. Blessed be the name of The Lord for granting us our many blessings!

Hello friends and family...

This week has been good

We have been having lessons nonmembers homes with dinner as well. It has been nice!
We are very busy, as usual. Transfers are in a week so I will probably stay with my companion. That is our prediction. Not that it really matters.

I took some pictures in front of a sign that says "no dogs allowed". I like the photo because one of them makes me look like a stud and the other one looks like I have evil eyes.

I don't have a ton to share this week.
The Lord is blessing us a lot and I feel my Saviors love every day. The mission is going by fast, and life is good. The weather here is nice too...

Love y'all

Have a good one

Oh Boy

Hello everybody

I did not email last week because of the changes in the communication... so I felt less obliged to send a group email. However, I will still try and send one to y'all. So here it is.

We have been working really really really hard. We have gone through a whole box of copies of the Book of Mormon Last week. We have talked to sooo many people...

A part member family we are teaching came to church on Sunday so they could have their newborn baby blessed. It was pretty neat, and we set up a consistent teaching schedule with them.

I have had white people Mexican food for nearly the whole week. Tacos and burritos for days. And I say white people Mexican food because in my previous area I had actually Mexican tacos and stuff and let me tell you... it is way better than whatever we are making. It's still good... but I have had so much of it. I need something new in my diet...

I got an email from a Sister missionary who was in my mtc district. She was announcing her homecoming. I was surprised and then it hit me that I have been on the mission for 18 months now. It feels like time has flown by, but 6 months is still a lot of time. So, no worries. Trunkyness can wait.

We have been having lessons with people we are teaching in members homes, and that has been a lot. Because it means they can socialize, and I can just teach! I like to talk to people, but as my own family might know, I do get burned out with being social, so it is nice to just teach and leave. Although my social skills have improved and I have improved in just talking....

It's starting to warm up. No sweaters here anymore. Well, it might rain today, but... who knows.

The Gospel is True!
