Hello Family and Friends!
My apologies for skipping out on the weekly email. I have been busy, sick, and have had a few rough days, frankly. My sincerest apologies again....
But I'm back!
I got sick. My companion was sick for a while, but then I got sick. I managed to hold it off...until Friday. I've been doing progressively better since then. Thank you contagions....
It rained last week, which is something I did not expect. It's cloudy today too. Maybe it will rain...it rains here and then all drains downwards. It looks really neat.
Transfers are coming up in a week! Will I stay? Will I go? Who knows?! (Well...God does) My companion has been in this area for 6 months now, and is likely to get transferred out. However, there is a good chance that I will be leaving here too, according to some. Which would mean that two other elders or sisters would get to take over. If I do get transferred, I would personally like to see the other side of the mission, which is out of the Las Vegas valley, into a desert wasteland. Marauding wastelands, Barbarous rocky coastlines, and ice-crowned mountain paths are three of my favorite environments, and one of those happens to be an option for serving in for me. Perhaps someday I'll serve there. If not, I'm good here in Henderson too. My next weekly email will confirm my fate for the next 6 weeks.
We had a cool miracle occur. One day, Elder Bybee and Elder Moore were in a bad way. Everything seemed to be terrible, but we decided to get our boots on the ground and tract up some apartment complexes. We met some neat people and found a former investigator. His wife apparently nearly met with missionaries a year ago, but he turned them down. He wasn't super interested it seemed so we kept knocking doors. Next thing we know, he comes out of his apartment and follows us. He asks us if he and his family can attend the church and still have hold-ups about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. We told him absolutely, he is always welcome. So long story short...we're going to start teaching him and his family. So, keep working even when everything sucks and you will see blessings.
We have a baptism coming up! This kid our age started dating a member, and then he started meeting with us. He's super awesome and we absolutely love 'im. My companion is going to baptize him and I am confirming him. It will be a great experience!
We watched the address by President Nelson today. It was super awesome! The spirit was strong. I love and sustain our Prophet.
All is well, and everything will be well...if you trust in God and do good continually. So do good continually!
-Elder Moore
