The Book of Mormon

Hello friends and family!

This past week was good. We walked around and talked to many people! We didn't have too many people make it to church this week which was a bummer, but that's okay. We will get some more this Sunday...

We had a few solid lessons this passed week. In every single one I found myself testifying of the Book of Mormon and inviting people to read from it. We committed one man who has been investigating the church for about 2 years now, and we are trying to figure out why he hasn't gotten Baptized yet. Well we learned he hasn't been keeping any of the old commitments he was extended, so we are helping him to read the Book of Mormon. When we committed him, I got a spiritual reassurance that what we had just taught him was true, but also that this is what he needed right now.

I had a similar experience in a few other lessons this week as well. I have made sure to read from the Book of Mormon every day myself. I know that the Prophets have asked us to do so for a long time now, and I feel a calm reassurance of its truth and divinity every time I read its words. It really has changed my life. Every time I need a pick me up, I crack open the Book of Mormon. The doctrines within give me a whole new perspective on life and my own relationship with the Savior. His love and Spirit radiate from the Book of Mormon. It has been an enormous blessing in my life. If you have not read it in awhile I would strongly encourage and invite you to read from the Book of Mormon again. It will lift and encourage you and take you to another level of peace and joy. It will help to give you guidance in a world of ever-changing values. It will help lead you safely back to our Heavenly Father. He has given us this book to inspire us to new heights and new plains of joy, so let us continually show our gratitude by feasting on His words.

This week has been slower, but every step I take in the service of God is a blessing. I am ever grateful for the opportunity I have to serve. I love you all and thank you for all that you do. Have a great week!

BONUS! Excerpts from Elder Moore's email to his mom!

Hi Mom!

Sorry I haven't been sending any pictures... we haven't taken any. Thanks for the package you sent! There were a lot of cookies! I shared some with our neighbors. They are missionaries in our district, and they appreciated them as well. Henderson is good. It's much slower here than Las Vegas, but the people we teach are generally more committed. Plus you don't have to worry about them going to jail or getting evicted as a regular thing, which is nice. How is the family doing? I feel like I should apologize for not emailing you specifically. I read all of your emails (dad's too). I'm not the best at replying. P-day sometimes get busy....
But that's no excuse.

I also forgot to mention that a member of the 70 is coming to tour the mission on Friday. I'll tell you all more about it later! Thanks for all the love and support. You and Dad are the best parents. I love you!
